Pre-Primary Curriculum: Fostering Curiosity and Creativity
Our Pre-Primary program recognizes the importance of interactive learning experiences that nurture a child’s natural curiosity and creativity.
Circle Time: Children engage in activities like “A Journey Through an Ocean of Thoughts,” where they close their eyes and imagine journeys, sparking creative expression. “Show and Tell” encourages them to bring objects from home and share stories, building communication skills.
Dramatic Play: Using puppets and dialogues based on themes like “Home,” children explore self-expression and social interaction.
Morning Assembly: A vibrant part of the day, assemblies involve stories, songs, rhymes, and puppet shows – all opportunities for active participation and building confidence.
Learning by Doing: Through hands-on activities like cutting, pasting, coloring, and freehand drawing, children express their ideas and develop fine motor skills. Freehand drawing allows them to translate their thoughts into visual stories, celebrated for their unique creativity.
Music and Movement: Singing, dancing, and reciting rhymes foster a love for language, improve rhythm and coordination, and enhance physical development. Children are encouraged to create their own stories, further strengthening their expressive abilities.
Outdoor Activities: Nature walks, playing on swings, and running races develop observation skills, patience, and listening.
Playroom Exploration: In the playroom, children choose from a variety of games – dolls, kitchens, blocks, puzzles, or storybooks. Skits are also encouraged, allowing them to enact social situations like birthday parties or pretend play.
Field Trips: Short trips to various locations provide opportunities for observation, social interaction, and communication development. Upon returning, a “recollection-cum-memory retention activity” encourages them to draw what they saw and experienced, solidifying learning in a fun way.
